It's with a big thanks to you, our members, and with a shout out to anyone else who donated, that we have been able to purchase and install Trail Care Tools.Through consultation with ex-presidente and Trail Yoda Dan Greenwood, Jason from SSC Bushcare, and after some recent dry and wet weather testing, we have selected a simple set of tools which are focused towards maintenance, and deliberately, not earthmoving or new trail construction. If something needs heavy work - get in touch with us and we can prioritise it on a dig day. The hope, with the installation of these tools, is that it finally means all those of you who've always wanted to give back some maintenance time, but could never make a Saturday morning, now can.
Jason from Keystone Trails, with Josh from Offroad Advantage Trail have completed works on Hit The Turps trail. Get out there and send it!
This trail was completely funded by MCTA members and designed/built by volunteers. Whats it all about? Check out the video
Trail signage is now complete – Fresh trail names, caution, no entry and general wayfinding signage installed by volunteers and entirely funded by MCTA Inc's members.
The new maps, displaying important contact, safety and directional information, help visitors and members alike enjoy their visit to the Mill Creek network.A total of three maps have been installed, one at the Little Forest Road trailhead, and two others at the key trail junctions at the top of both Black Hawk Down and Hit The Turps.Important improvements to the safety and enjoyment of the network such as these maps, have been funded entirely by MCTA Inc's members.
Got some flow, some tech features and even a skinny! Great for beginners and those wanting to work on their skills
While almost intolerably slow, we have thankfully managed to keep in touch with Sutherland Shire Council staff and achieve some progress re the Mill Creek Carpark and Cycleway project.
The Hit the Turps project started from a vision to create a trail that would help riders progress their jumping skills and confidence whilst providing a solution for the council with a problem fire trail that was becoming a large erosion problem.
