ROYAL NATIONAL PARK
The ‘Royal’ and it’s official 10km ‘Loftus Loop’, managed by NPWS, is home to a variety of longer length fire trail experiences with flat gradients suitable for beginners, or steeper gradients suitable for experienced riders looking for a test of fitness. A smaller amount of sanctioned single track typically featuring flat style corners and some technical features add to the experience and allow developing riders to progress their skills in a high quality bush land environment, with expansion plans for more sanctioned single track imminent.
WARATAH PARK SHORT TRACK
Located next to the clubhouse of, and maintained by Sutherland Shire Cycling Club, this approximately 2km long MTB short track packs a variety of features into a relatively flat gradient single track experience perfect for beginners or kids, with plenty of on-site parking available and fresh water.
MILL CREEK MTB TRAILS
Rehabilitated from unsanctioned dirt bike and 4WD trails, historically these trails located within the Lucas Heights Conservation Area take advantage of unique shale and sandstone geology to provide more of a technical challenge for intermediate and experienced riders. Contemporarily, more experiences for beginners, and jump/flow trails such as ‘Hit The Turps’, have been built by volunteers and funding from Mill Creek Trail Association Inc to widen the experience offered. The 10km total length of all sub 1km length majority single track trails, are able to be repeated or looped to create a longer ride duration.
THE RIDGE PUMP TRACK
One of the biggest pump tracks in Australia, with 954 square metres of asphalt surfaced berms, curves, dips and transitions, suitable for riders of all ages and skill levels. Located within The Ridge Off Road Sports Complex, ample free parking is available next to the track, with fresh water, toilet and shade facilities also available.
